Our Lady Spouse of the Holy Spirit Regia
Serving the State of Michigan

Each Year The Legion of Mary celebrates a consecration to Our Lady comprising of both Active and Auxillary members. This takes place on March 25th (The Feast of the Annunciation) or on a day close thereto. This Latin word Acies means an army set in battle array. We assemble as a group to renew our dedication to Mary, Queen of the Legion, and from her to receive the strength and blessing for another years battle with the forces of evil. Moreover, the word Acies is an effective contrast with preasidium (the name of the group of the active members), which contemplates the Legion, no longer drawn up in a battle array, but split into sections engaging in its own particular shere of duty.
The Acies is the Great central annual function of the Legion, so attendance is strongly adivised for every member. The essential idea of the Legion, upon which all else is built, is that of working in union with and in dependance on Our Lady, Queen and Mother. The Acies is a solemn expression of that union.
The State of Michigan has many Acies on or around the March 25th, usually on the Saturday closest to the date. The Acies ceremony is followed by a pot luck reception in the parrish hall. This is a good way to meet other Legionares in an informal setting. Our Legion as a group has a life long and sacred bond with one another through our Devotion to Our Lord Jesus through His Holy Mother. Joining the Legion is comparable to entering into a family with 3 million world wide siblings with 10 million relatives praying for you. We all have the same goal, to strenghen our Holy Catholic Church, and to our love separated friends home.

Dear Mother Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary be with me, I humbly pray.
As these hands begin to bring to life this new rosary I make today.
Bless each bead with your precious touch as it gently falls into place,
So that every prayer that is said on it may be answered with God's Grace.
Bless these beads and those who pray and let them feel your touch.
Let thier tears cleanse thier souls, the tears we need so much!
I pray Oh Precious Mother, that your child who takes these beads
Will walk in the footsteps of Jesus by praying its mysteries
Let these beads be the ones that turn the world to Him,
Your Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We pray to you and love you.
Amen
